Nigerian rapper and former Big Brother Naija Season 5 winner Laycon shared a personal experience that followed his rise to fame after the reality show in 2020. Known as Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, he discussed how his victory led to a period of feeling disconnected from his inner voice. In a video that emerged online, Laycon explained that the overwhelming changes from sudden fame impacted him both mentally and emotionally.

He asked his audience, “Has the world ever gone silent on you and all you have left were your own thoughts?” Laycon elaborated on his experience, stating, “After I won Big Brother Naija in 2020, I lost my inner voice, and the first time I heard that voice again was December 2021 after my sold-out concert, The Icons Fest.”

He shared that reconnecting with his inner voice prompted a phase of deep reflection. He revealed that the voice posed questions such as, “Is this really how you want to live? Are you enjoying yourself? What’s next after this? Are you happy?” These inquiries encouraged him to spend quiet time with his thoughts, leading to significant but uncomfortable insights about himself.

Laycon highlighted that moments of solitude and silence can serve as powerful tools for personal growth. By distancing himself from external noise, he was able to think clearly, confront challenging truths, and gain a better understanding of himself. He also urged his fans to engage in self-reflection, emphasizing that evaluating one’s thoughts and actions can foster personal accountability and promote meaningful change.
