A murder suspect in the Foolio case had a confrontation during the trial, leading the judge to order his removal in handcuffs.

On Thursday, May 7, during the tenth day of the Foolio murder trial, an incident occurred while Judge Michelle Sisco was delivering closing remarks. Suspect Davion Murphy had an outburst directed at one of his codefendants.

“Stop talking to me,” Murphy stated. “You don’t love me.”

Judge Sisco instructed Murphy to remain quiet.

“Mr. Davion Murphy may need to be removed if he can’t stop talking,” Judge Sisco said. “Please stop. You are not helping your situation.”

When Murphy continued, bailiffs handcuffed him and escorted him out of the courtroom.

On Friday, May 8, the judge provided instructions to the jury, which is scheduled to begin deliberations on May 11.

Murphy, along with three other men—Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Isaiah Chance—faces charges of premeditated murder in connection with the 2024 killing of Foolio. Authorities allege that they tracked the Jacksonville, Florida, rapper to Tampa, Florida, where he was celebrating his birthday and shot him outside a Holiday Inn. The murder is believed to stem from an ongoing gang conflict in Jacksonville.

In November, Alcia Andrews, the fifth individual charged in the case, was found guilty of manslaughter. Investigators claim she and Chance followed Foolio around Tampa and informed the other suspects of his location. She is awaiting sentencing.
