Controversial street-pop singer Portable has sparked new reactions online after stating that he deliberately allowed comedian Carter Efe to win their recent celebrity boxing match.

The fight, held at Chaos in the Ring 4, concluded with Carter Efe defeating Portable and earning the ₦50 million prize reportedly promised by businessman E-Money.

Following the victory, Carter Efe has continued to receive cash gifts and rewards, including a reported $5,000 from cryptocurrency entrepreneur Habby Forex.

In a livestream session with Whitemoney, Portable asserted that the match’s outcome was intentional, claiming he sacrificed the victory due to the financial implications.

“That’s why I sell that match, for my enemy. I win that match. If na concert I do, they won’t come,”

he stated.

The singer indicated that many people had wagered on him to win and suggested that defeating Carter Efe might have had financial repercussions for those involved.

Portable’s recent remarks add another layer to the ongoing discussions surrounding the celebrity bout, particularly after he initially accused the event organizers of bias and unfair judging.

The “Zazoo Zeh” artist is familiar with the boxing scene. In 2023, he won against Charles Okocha in another celebrity match after a contentious dispute related to an alleged ₦40 million agreement.

That fight occurred at Landmark Beach during the Heritage Boxing Entertainment event and concluded in Portable’s favor after four rounds by unanimous decision.

Now, despite his defeat to Carter Efe, Portable remains a prominent figure in public discourse both in and out of the boxing arena.
