Prosecutors presented a video of murder suspect Sean Gathright attempting to flee from the interrogation room following his arrest.

On Wednesday, during the ninth day of the murder trial, the prosecution played footage of Gathright trying to escape after his arrest in July 2024. The defense objected to the inclusion of this video, claiming it was irrelevant and could bias the jury against Gathright.

In the video, Gathright is seen removing his ankle monitor. He then expresses frustration, demanding to be let out of the room. Gathright climbs onto a table and attempts to access what appears to be the ceiling vent. After this attempt fails, he descends from the table, just as a detective enters and instructs him to sit down.

Following the review of the footage, Judge Kimberly Fernandez decided that only specific parts of the video would be shown to the jury, particularly the moment Gathright removed his ankle monitor.

Gathright is one of four individuals, alongside Davion Murphy, Isaiah Chance, and Rashad Murphy, facing charges related to the ambush and murder of Jacksonville rapper Foolio on June 23, 2024. Authorities have indicated that the incident is tied to an ongoing gang conflict.

Additionally, a fifth suspect, Alicia Andrews, was convicted of manslaughter in October 2025 for her role as a lookout during the incident. Her sentencing, initially set for January, has been deferred.
