Kanye West Asserts That No One Can Defeat Him In A Verzuz Battle

Kanye West has shared his thoughts on the ongoing discussion about who could potentially defeat him in a Verzuz battle, providing a response typical of his persona.

The Chicago rapper made an unexpected appearance at Deon Cole’s comedy show at Hollywood Improv, where he interacted casually with Cole and comedian Ocean Glapion throughout the evening.

When Glapion asked him if there was any artist he considered a worthy opponent in a Verzuz matchup, West shook his head and responded, “Nobody,” accompanied by his familiar smirk.

Supporting his viewpoint, West noted that during his recent sold-out performances at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium, he showcased numerous hits, yet still had significant songs like “Gold Digger” and “Touch the Sky” left unperformed.

Additionally, West briefly mentioned the forthcoming deluxe edition of Bully, indicating that it is still in the finishing stages.

He also humorously agreed to let Deon Cole record an interlude for the project, akin to the comedic skits by DeRay Davis featured on The College Dropout and Late Registration.

The idea of Kanye West entering a Verzuz battle has been a topic of fan discussions for years, with notable figures such as Drake, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and Future suggested as possible challengers.

In 2021, Swizz Beatz disclosed that West was actually “ready” to compete against Drake in the Verzuz series, which he co-founded with Timbaland, but this did not occur due to their ongoing feud.

Many fans believe that the only catalog capable of matching West’s belongs to his former mentor, labelmate, and collaborator JAY-Z.

On a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Budden and his co-hosts discussed who might prevail in a match between the two, with all agreeing it would be an intriguing contest.

Antwan “Ish” Marby expressed support for West to win, stating, “I still think Hov is the greatest rapper ever, but when you’re up there with 20 bangers, hits… yes, Kanye can get him out of there.”

Conversely, Brian “B.Dot” Miller strongly argued that JAY-Z would come out on top, saying, “If we’re talking about lead songs, I don’t think that JAY-Z loses to Kanye West.”

Budden agreed with Miller’s point.
