DDG has identified a new target for his timeline jokes, focusing on Soulja Boy’s recent business venture. Following Soulja Boy’s announcement that his merchandise company, Soulja Boy Drip Co., has launched a footwear line, DDG commented with a straightforward assessment, stating, “Them MFs a**.” As of the time of publication, Soulja has not publicly addressed DDG’s remark.

Soulja Boy’s launch presents the sneaker line as a vibrant, character-driven concept. The product listings on the official Drip Co. website feature two initial sneaker designs priced at $100 and $350, with the higher-priced option showcasing a camo design. The promotional images circulating online emphasize bold color blocking and large branding, incorporating camo patterns and repeated cartoon graphics associated with Soulja’s brand. This approach appears intended to stand out in a market where minimalist designs tend to prevail.

DDG’s comment sparked a discussion among sneaker enthusiasts and Hip Hop observers on social media. Some individuals perceived the comment as a lighthearted roast, while others viewed it as a genuine critique of the design and practicality — two key factors that often determine whether a celebrity sneaker maintains interest beyond an initial surge of curiosity.

This exchange also occurred against the backdrop of a complicated history between the two artists. Rap-Up previously reported on Soulja Boy reigniting his feud with DDG at the beginning of 2026, asserting that DDG owes his career to him and engaging in insults during an Instagram Live session. Months prior, Soulja Boy allegedly threatened DDG following the public filing of a restraining order by Halle Bailey.

Despite their ongoing conflict, both artists have been active musically. In 2025, Soulja released Draco Season and Swag 7, along with several standalone singles. At the start of the new year, he released the bass-heavy track “Shake That Azz.” Meanwhile, DDG has continued to maintain his momentum with tracks like “blame the chat,” “moo,” and “don’t overthink it.” He also collaborated once again with Blueface on “Habibi.”
