WurlD – Da Da (Aduio)

Afrosoul singer WurlD has released a new single titled “Da Da,” which features a relaxed style rooted in Pidgin storytelling.

The track has a smooth Afrobeats groove, with warm percussion and a subtle bass line that allows his vocals to shine. WurlD seamlessly transitions between Pidgin phrases and melodic hooks, taking his time with each word.

The lyrics explore themes of relationships and urban life, with an underlying sense of ambition, all while maintaining a laid-back atmosphere. The use of Pidgin simplifies the lyrics, while the hooks remain fluid. His delivery is casual, making the song feel more like a conversation than a lecture.

WurlD began his career in Atlanta, where he wrote songs for artists like Timbaland and B.o.B. He co-wrote the hit “Blow My Mind” by Davido featuring Chris Brown and gained recognition with his breakthrough song “Show You Off,” which included Walshy Fire from Major Lazer.

Walshy Fire also collaborated with him on the recent track “Outside,” and he has recently worked with artists Marioo and Sarz. His 2020 EP, Afrosoul, included the streaming hit “Ghost Town,” followed by his 2022 debut album, “My WorlD with U.” Listen to “Da Da” and share your thoughts: do you prefer WurlD’s Pidgin style?
