Vince Staples – Tulsa, OK

Vince Staples has released his new album, Cry Baby, which has generated significant discussion. The single “Tulsa, OK,” previously available only on vinyl, is now accessible on all streaming platforms. This track continues the album’s focus on sociopolitical issues, referencing the destruction of a Black neighborhood by a white mob in 1921 and emphasizing the need for action against white supremacy. Staples delivers a passionate and incisive performance, complemented by contrasting haunting synths, bass, and guitars present throughout Cry Baby. Despite the album’s overall impact, “Tulsa, OK” remains a crucial component worth listening to.
