Rod Wave has cancelled his “Last Lap Tour,” the singer revealed on Wednesday, January 29, in the evening. The Florida-based rapper expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, stating that the tour had been “f**ked up from the beginning,” primarily due to production issues.
The event had to be postponed and rearranged, yet it still didn’t seem to make any logical sense. The second part of the leg experienced the same issue, as Wave indicated on his Instagram Story. “I have never cancelled a performance due to personal reasons ever in my life,” he stated. The Nostalgia artist then posted a photo of multiple pills in a transparent Ziploc bag, indicating a dosage of three pills per day, presumably for each stop.
“My foot and ankle injury has been excruciating throughout the entire tour, but this is what I had to do in order to keep going,” he added. I’ve been completely mentally exhausted, so I’d appreciate your understanding. Following this, Wave asked his fans to be “a little more understanding,” given that he is completely devoted to his music.
If the stage and lighting are not constructed properly, and I invested over $13 million in it, it’s not fair to me or to all of you to have a half-finished presentation. Everything is completely out of my control,” he added, followed by a video clip of his late manager, Uncle Dee. Following this, he gave assurances to his fans that full refunds would be provided and vowed to come back even bigger and improved in a few months.
Last Lap was launched in October 2024, accompanied by pre-release tracks such as “Passport Junkie” and “Fall Fast in Love.” The 23-track album featured guest appearances from Rylo Rodriguez, Lil Baby, and Lil Yachty, with the latter two artists collaborating on the “On & On”-sampling track “F**k Fame.”
According to previous reports from Rap-Up, the long-playing album made its debut at No. The album reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 127,000 album-equivalent units. His achievement also enabled him to tie Taylor Swift’s record of having a Top 10 album every year since 2019.
