Controversial street-pop artist Portable has expressed frustration towards fellow entertainers, including Davido and Zlatan Ibile, following his recent loss in a celebrity boxing match.

The singer shared his disappointment regarding what he views as selective support within the music industry after his bout against comedian Carter Efe. He noted that many of his colleagues, who typically do not attend his concerts, were quick to come out for the boxing event, suggesting they were more interested in witnessing his defeat than in supporting him.

In his remarks, Portable stated that while his music shows often go unnoticed, the same individuals showed up in large numbers for the fight. He emphasized that his concerts do not attract their attendance but that they came out to see him lose.

He stated,

“When I host a show, they do not come. My concerts do not attract them. But when they saw the boxing match, all the celebrities came. They came to watch my downfall. My concerts are not attended, but they showed up for the fight.”

He continued to express his belief that some people are celebrating his setbacks rather than his achievements, mentioning that he had earned a considerable amount of money from the fight and that he is focusing on his personal life, particularly the recent birth of his child, which he regards as a significant blessing.

Portable also claimed that certain individuals in the industry are perpetuating negative dialogue about him online, adding another layer to the ongoing tension surrounding his presence in the music scene.

The situation continues to generate reactions on social media, highlighting the rivalry and emotions that are now intertwined with celebrity boxing in Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.
