Pooh Shiesty has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of kidnapping and extortion related to a case involving Gucci Mane.

A report from TMZ, published on May 8 and confirmed by journalist Bryson “Boom” Paul, states that Pooh Shiesty pleaded not guilty to five federal counts during his arraignment in Dallas, Texas. The charges arise from a January 10 incident in which Gucci Mane and other victims were kidnapped and robbed at a recording studio in Dallas.

Attorneys Kent Schaffer and Saam Zangeneh, representing Pooh, indicated that they are awaiting a scheduling order from the court. They mentioned that although they have not reviewed all the evidence, it appears that the case is defensible and they hope to have Lontrell back in the studio soon.

Schaffer has taken over the case from Pooh’s former attorney, Bradford Cohen, who withdrew from the case last month. Prior to his withdrawal, Cohen expressed that the prosecution’s evidence showed significant weaknesses and believed Pooh could win the case.

XXL has reached out to attorney Kent Schaffer for additional comments.

Lontrell Williams, Jr., known as Pooh Shiesty, is currently being held at Kaufman County Jail in Texas. He, his father Lontrell Williams, Sr., rapper Big30, and six other individuals have been charged with luring Gucci Mane to a studio, robbing him, and coercing him into signing a contract release form at gunpoint.

Previously reported, both Big30, born Rodney Wright Jr., and Pooh’s father pleaded not guilty in the District Court for the Northern District of Texas on April 30. They remain in jail following the revocation of their bonds.

If found guilty, Pooh Shiesty, Big30, and the others may face life in prison.
