J. Cole has shared his favorite tracks from his latest album, The Fall-Off, and his selections may be unexpected.

In a recent entry on his personal blog, The Algorithm, the Dreamville artist updated fans on the busy month following the release of his eighth and final album, which included traveling across various cities in his old Honda Civic and interacting with fans during his Trunk Sale Tour.

“This post is just me checking in and saying thank you for all the love on the album. From the YouTube videos I see, to the TikTok videos, Instagram, and Twitter posts that reach me, it’s the best feeling in the world when I see people feel the same way I do about the music,” he wrote.

“It’s officially a month after The Fall-Off dropped, and I’m still over here playing it every day religiously as if I’m not the one that’s rapping on it.”

For his favorite tracks, Cole mentioned “The Let Out,” a club anthem inspired by OutKast’s “SpottieOttieDopaliscious,” noting it as one of his most sonically adventurous songs. He also pointed out “Poor Thang” and “I Love Her Again,” the latter paying tribute to “I Used To Love H.E.R.” and “The Light” by Common as strong contenders.

Looking forward, J. Cole announced plans for a press tour to promote The Fall-Off, indicating he will participate in interviews with several favorite media outlets, deviating from his typically private approach.

“My intention was to drop the album and let it sit for at least a month before I did any interviews,” he shared. “I wanted to give people a chance to feel whatever emotions the music brought them and formulate their own thoughts, ideas, opinions, or interpretations before I came out and gave mine. I felt it would be best that way; more pure.

“Now, I feel like it’s a good time to step out of my comfort zone (home) and do some interviews. There are a lot of platforms out there that I respect, both big and small, and I look forward to showing up, showing love while continuing to push this album that I gave so much to.”

The North Carolina artist expressed anticipation for his upcoming The Fall-Off Tour, a significant 73-date international series that spans four continents over five months, scheduled from July 10 to December 12.

“I was exhausted after leaving L.A. on that last [Trunk Sale Tour] stop; it had me thinking about this tour coming up… 6 months long!! I’m excited though,” he wrote.

“We haven’t done an international tour run since 4 Your Eyez Only. Fatherhood made me not want to be away from the house for that long, but for this album, it’s essential that I push through and connect with the world.”
