Cam’ron has addressed his lawsuit against J. Cole, attributing it to several unmet promises over the years.

As previously reported, Cam filed a lawsuit against Cole in October 2025 concerning their collaborative track “Ready ’24,” which was included in Cole’s 2024 mixtape, Might Delete Later. Cam claimed that Cole had promised to provide a verse for his own song or to appear on his “It Is What It Is” podcast in trade for Cam’s verse on the song.

When neither promise materialized, Cam decided to sue the Dreamville Records founder, seeking credit as a co-writer and an accounting of the song’s revenue. Following the announcement of the lawsuit, Cam did not engage further on the matter during his “Talk With Flee” podcast. Despite co-host Sen City’s efforts to draw out more information, Cam only commented on Cole’s status in the rap industry, stating, “I think J. Cole is definitely going to be a rap legend. One hundred percent, definite.”

On a Tuesday episode of “Talk With Flee,” Cam elaborated on the reasons for involving legal counsel. He described his expectation that Cole would reciprocate the favors he had done, including helping with appearances on “Ready ’24” and 2021’s “9 5 . s o u t h.” He noted that the North Carolina rapper was delaying his response.

“I’m exaggerating, but he’s like, ‘The chakra ain’t right right now. The moon not aligned with the stars, and when I write, I put my all into it,’” Cam said. “Okay, let’s put your all into it.”

After mentioning how much faster he was able to deliver his own verses, Cam shifted to requesting an interview instead of a verse. However, Cole reportedly continued to provide excuses regarding scheduling, citing issues such as the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar rivalry and delays surrounding his The Fall-Off album.

Cam recounted, “[Cole said], ‘I can’t do it now because I don’t feel like talking about [Lamar] right now.’ I said, ‘Look, I’ll do the interview. I won’t even bring that up.’ He says, ‘Nah, I can’t do no interview and not talk about it.’”

Exasperated by the ongoing uncertainty and lack of progress, Cam is seeking, in addition to co-writing credits, approximately $500,000 for his troubles.

As of now, Cole has not publicly responded to any of Cam’ron’s allegations.
