Fetty Wap has been released from prison. On Thursday, January 8, the rapper known for “Trap Queen” returned home approximately 11 months earlier than anticipated.

Initially scheduled for release in December 2026, Fetty Wap will now finish the remainder of his sentence under home confinement. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to possess and distribute over 500 grams of cocaine and was subsequently sentenced to six years in prison.

In a statement, Fetty expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and fans for their support, emphasizing the importance of their love and prayers. He stated that his current focus is on giving back to the community through initiatives aimed at helping at-risk children access education, technology skills, and vision care.

He is dedicated to moving forward with purpose and making a significant impact in areas that require attention. His publicist, Abesi Manyando, indicated that Fetty is in good spirits and has a clearer focus on his priorities, which include family, fatherhood, and community involvement.

On the musical front, Fetty released “Lil Sexy” featuring Doe Boy in June 2025, following “Forever (71943509)” in May. He also saw renewed interest in his 2015 song “Again,” which gained traction on TikTok and re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 41.

While there has been no official announcement regarding new music, 300 Entertainment recently shared a video welcoming him back as he arrived at their offices. The label has previously worked on several of his releases, including 2023’s King Zoo, 2021’s The Butterfly Effect, and 2020’s You Know The Vibes.
