Reports that Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda lost $4 million in a purported real estate scam have been refuted, as it has been revealed that the viral video circulating online is from 2023 and unrelated to any recent property dealings.

The claim gained momentum after a social media user shared an old video of the singer during an Instagram Live session, incorrectly alleging that he became emotional upon learning that a Lagos mansion he bought for $4 million was sold to him by someone without rightful ownership.

The post also included statements attributed to Bella Shmurda, suggesting he had lost his entire savings and that the alleged seller vanished after the transaction.

However, a source close to the singer has labeled the story as completely false, noting that the video predates the claims by several years.

According to the source, the footage was recorded in 2023 during an Instagram Live session following the passing of fellow Nigerian artist Mohbad, and is not associated with any real estate transaction.

“This is fake news. We are not sure where the agenda came from. That video is from 2023,”

the source stated.

This clarification follows the widespread circulation of the misleading post on social media, which raised concerns among fans of the Afrobeats star.

At the time of this report, Bella Shmurda has not publicly commented on the viral claim, and there is no indication that legal action will be pursued against those responsible for disseminating the false information.
