Chike Accuses Woman Of Alleged Fraud On X

Nigerian singer Chike has publicly accused a woman named Chioma Nneoma Ochibili of defrauding him in what he claims was a fraudulent business deal.

The situation developed in the early hours of Monday, March 16, on the platform X (formerly Twitter), where the singer made several posts warning others about the alleged scam.

Chike stated that what he thought was a legitimate business transaction resulted in a loss of $20,000, suggesting that other individuals might have lost a total of $50,000. He included the woman’s photo and full name in his posts, which gained considerable attention as online discussions ensued.

The thread began shortly after midnight with a question: “Chioma Nneoma Ochibili? So you are a thief?” He accused her of claiming to operate a business while, according to him, “her business is to survive on your money.”

Chike then posted her photo again, repeating a similar message and encouraging anyone who had given her money to seek repayment. He mentioned his own loss of $20,000 and expressed regret for not recognizing the alleged scam sooner. Approximately an hour later, he added a remark regarding others who might be involved in the situation.

After several hours of speculation online, Chike clarified his main concern, stating: “Do not get distracted. The focus is not about the amount of money. Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud.”

He emphasized that his tweets were not mainly about recovering the money, which he claimed he was already addressing through other channels, but about informing the public to prevent further losses.

In a subsequent post, Chike shared a screenshot from someone alleging to know Chioma personally, claiming that she had scammed friends, a former boyfriend, and her current partner.

The incident has raised discussions online regarding trust in business transactions and the risks of falling victim to scams, with many users acknowledging Chike for bringing attention to the issue.
