Canadian singer Céline Dion has confirmed her return to live performances four years after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome.

This condition affected her voice and mobility.

In a video message shared on Monday, the 58-year-old expressed her joy, calling the news “the best gift of my life.” She announced plans for a limited concert residency in Paris, marking a significant milestone in her comeback.

The announcement aligned with her birthday, generating excitement among fans and supporters worldwide.

Dion will perform a 10-night residency at the Paris La Défense Arena in September and October. Known for popular songs like “My Heart Will Go On” and “Because You Loved Me,” she expressed her gratitude for the support she has received throughout her health struggles.

“This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life. I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again. I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, and of course, a little nervous,”

she stated.

Discussing her health, Dion noted, “I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good. I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing.” She acknowledged the continuous support from fans, saying, “Over these last few years, every day that’s gone by, I felt your prayers and support… I can’t wait to see you again.”

Her return follows a challenging period that began in December 2022 when she publicly disclosed her diagnosis. The rare disorder, which leads to severe muscle stiffness and spasms, compelled her to cancel the remainder of her Courage World Tour in May 2023. At that time, she shared in an emotional video that the illness had impacted her ability to walk and sing as she had in the past.

Despite these challenges, Dion remained resolute. In her 2024 documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion,” she asserted her commitment to returning to her fans, even if it required starting anew.

A significant moment occurred during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she delivered a memorable performance of Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’Amour” from the Eiffel Tower, showcasing her enduring vocal abilities.

From her beginnings in Charlemagne, Quebec, to becoming one of the best-selling artists, Céline Dion’s journey has been extraordinary. Discovered by her late husband and manager René Angélil, she gained global fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988. Her success in the 1990s, fueled by iconic ballads, solidified her legacy as one of music’s finest voices.

As she prepares to step back onto the stage, her return symbolizes resilience, perseverance, and a deep passion for her art.
