Cam’ron And J. Cole Put an End To Lawsuit Over ‘Ready 24′ Collaboration

Cam’ron and J. Cole have resolved their legal dispute regarding their 2024 song, “Ready ’24.”

According to documents obtained by XXL, Cam’ron informed the court that “parties have reached an agreement in principle to resolve the remaining claims in [the lawsuit] and are finalizing the settlement papers.” While the specific details of the settlement have not been disclosed, both artists are expected to complete the agreement within 30 days.

This settlement follows Cam’ron’s lawsuit against J. Cole, asserting that they had an agreement where, after Cam delivered his featured verse on the track “Ready ’24,” Cole would either collaborate on another song with Cam or make an appearance on his podcast, It Is What It Is. However, Cole did not follow through on this agreement.

Cam’ron stated that he recorded the track in 2022 but alleged that he was never compensated for the collaboration. He sought a court ruling to make him a co-author of the song and to receive monetary damages exceeding $500,000.

In response, J. Cole denied Cam’ron’s allegations. In a motion filed in February, Cole’s attorneys stated that he never committed to appearing on a Cam’ron song or participating in his digital show.

In a March episode of the Talk With Flee podcast, Cam’ron and J. Cole addressed their issues following the release of Cole’s project, The Fall-Off. Cole expressed his initial disappointment regarding the lawsuit.

“When the lawsuit came out, I was like, ‘Come on Cam,'” he said, adding that although his immediate reaction was negative, he quickly understood the situation.

Cam’ron later admitted that his legal action against Cole was intended as a publicity stunt, explaining, “Of course it was never gonna go anywhere, but for me it was like, ‘I need to get this ni**a attention.'”
