Poco Lee Shares How Burna Boy Assisted Him During His Arrest In The UK

Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee has discussed the support he received from Burna Boy during his recent legal issues in the United Kingdom.

Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Odinaka, shared this information in a video call on Sunday, marking his first public comments since being granted bail.

Reflecting on his experience, Poco Lee mentioned that Burna Boy remained supportive despite the seriousness of the allegations against him. He pointed out that most individuals would likely distance themselves from someone in a difficult situation like his.

“Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys,”

he stated.

He also explained that he managed to stay mentally composed during the ordeal because he maintained his innocence regarding the alleged offense. Rather than concentrating solely on his own circumstances, he expressed concern about the impact his absence could have on those around him, particularly his associate Jago and their business endeavors.

“I was just being myself. God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people. Jago could not do anything business-wise, and I didn’t want to stress anyone,”

he commented.

Poco Lee also noted that his mindset would have been significantly different had he believed he was guilty of the offense in question.

“If I was inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure,”

he added.

Poco Lee’s legal issues began upon his arrival in the UK in August for the Davido and Friends concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14. The case is ongoing, with Snaresbrook Crown Court having previously scheduled September 15 for plea and trial preparation proceedings. Poco Lee has not been convicted of any crime, and the allegations against him are still pending court determination.
