Don Toliver Has Announced The Release Date For His Album ‘OCTANE,’ And Fans Are Excited

It has been nearly two years since Don Toliver last released an album, but he is set to return with new music. On Thursday (Jan. 22), the Houston rapper, singer, and songwriter announced his upcoming project, titled OCTANE, through a visually striking teaser that has generated significant interest among fans.

The artist, affiliated with Cactus Jack Records, posted a black-and-white video on his social media platforms, which garnered widespread attention. The teaser opens with the phrase, “From the twisted minds that brought you HARDSTONE PSYCHO,” and includes images of an injured woman who appears to have been in a car accident. The screen then displays “Comes a new frequency…” as Toliver is seen driving a muscle car on a winding road, interacting with a scientist in a lab coat, and ultimately revealing that the new album will be released on Jan. 30.

Fans attending Rolling Loud in Orlando in May will have the opportunity to see OCTANE performed live. Toliver is one of the festival’s headliners, alongside Playboi Carti and YoungBoy Never Broke Again. He recently hosted a private listening party for the album in Houston.

Many fans have expressed their eagerness for the new release on social media. One user remarked, “Every Don project has been better than the previous one, so I know we’re about to get an INSANE album next week,” while another noted, “Why does it feel like this is gonna be his best album yet?”

OCTANE will be Toliver’s fifth official album, and it is available for pre-save on Spotify and other streaming services. The album will feature 18 tracks and is a collaborative project between Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack label and Atlantic Records. The album’s cover art has also been shared.
