Miko, a Puerto Rican rapper and singer, primarily performs in the Latin trap and reggaeton music styles. Her debut album, Att., was released in April 2024, and she has continued her upward trajectory since then. With approximately 22 million monthly listeners on Spotify, she has garnered praise similar to that of Bad Bunny, a collaborator she has already worked with. Following the release of her album, Miko also featured on the soundtrack for the second season of the popular Netflix show Arcane. She has now released her latest single, a lively Spanish-language trap song titled “WASSUP.”

The track “WASSUP” incorporates a sample of Lil Wayne’s 2008 song “Lollipop,” which was a major hit from his influential album Tha Carter III. Its lyrics are equally explicit in tone. The vast majority of it is in Spanish. Young Miko raps about persuading a girl to end her relationship with her boyfriend. Miko openly teases the subject of the song, boasting that her “face card never declines” and concluding her third verse with a clear implication, “mami, if you come with me, your back’s gonna be against the dash,” suggesting that her ultimate intention is a physical encounter. The track boasts a robust beat that perfectly captures the energy of parties, and a finale featuring Lil Jon effectively drives home its purpose. Take a look at “WASSUP” below.
