Tyler The Creator – Big Poe

Tyler The Creator Sugar On My Tongue

Doesn’t this nonsense make a person want to (jump, jump). Indeed, Tyler the Creator, it certainly does! A sampled Busta Rhymes bridge is featured on his new song “Big Poe,” which is the chaotic intro to DON’T TAP THE GLASS. This could be a case of recency bias, but this track is one of T’s most powerful opening tracks.

The album’s literal instructions convey its energetic vibe with a straightforward, 10-song approach. “One: Move your body (Funky) / Don’t sit still (Dance, bro) / Two: Speak only in a state of glory (Yeah) / Leave your emotional baggage behind (None of that deep negativity) / Three: Don’t tap the glass.”

Once those are read off, the dance party gets underway straight away. The instrumental track has an aggressive feel to it, characterised by its overpowering and chaotic drum beats. The album’s pervasive use of sharp synths perfectly complements the euphoric sensation evoked by the song.

It can be safely concluded that “Big Poe” is a persona Tyler The Creator has employed for this record, a concept he frequently utilises. Outside of this song, it’s not a major focal point. The aim is to avoid tapping the glass, allowing for a carefree atmosphere to persist unbroken.

If you’re not interested in that genre, this album may not be suitable for your taste. For those who are interested, we highly recommend “Big Poe” and the subsequent books.
