Tory Lanez has maintained an extremely high level of activity since being incarcerated. Since September 2023, he has released numerous singles, all falling under separate “Tapes” collections. The series began with the Lost Tapes, which were unreleased tracks from over 5 years ago, that Lanez had started releasing as it was uncertain whether he would be able to continue recording while in prison.

Following the release of the single, were tracks the artist recorded from prison. It is alleged that the guards confiscated the recording equipment shortly after this series commenced. He also released the Twitch Tapes, a compilation of songs he had played in his earlier live streams. Lanez now releases two previously unreleased tracks as part of the Lost Tapes collection: “School Fight” and “Lotta Money Ave.”

Tory Lanez released “School Fight” in 2020, with “Lotta Money Ave” originating in 2017. Lanez is committed to providing his fans with music, even as their preferred artist awaits the day he becomes eligible for parole.

Lanez’s release strategy is a savvy one, given the fact that many artists have faced lengthy prison sentences and found it difficult to mount a successful comeback. Bobby Shmurda has recently called off his forthcoming tour due to disappointing ticket sales figures. Clearly, one must wonder if he has sufficient existing content to sustain his audience for the next four and a half years at the current pace of his releases. For the time being, it appears to be a successful approach. Listen to the latest “Lost Tapes” tracks, specifically “School Fight” and “Lotta Money Ave,” in the meantime.
