TiaCorine Backyard JID

TiaCorine consistently has a boundless reserve of tumultuous energy at her disposal. She unleashes some of it on “Backyard” alongside first-time co-star JID and with production from Hit-Boy. This star-studded collaboration is one of five official singles for the North Carolina native’s sophomore album, CORINIAN.

Over a trunk-shaking beat, TiaCorine and JID exchange verses overflowing with boasts that span from extremely confident to downright hilarious. For instance, JID raps, “I gave her the dope d*ck, she’s takin’ it home, she thinks it’s a trophy / She acts like a dope addict, she’s baggin’ my dope, sending emojis.”

TiaCorine is creating a distinctive listening experience with “Backyard,” a project that has followed the bold approach of her previous releases. From “Ironic” to “Different Color Stones,” the content has been vibrant and distinct from the typical mainstream output.

It appears she is drawing on these distinctive textures and sounds reminiscent of outer space to distinguish herself from the crowded female rapper community. This marks her most ambitious undertaking to date, set to be released through Interscope Records on October 10.

The full tracklist has not been disclosed, and there will be 17 songs included. For now, have a look at the striking visuals and sonics for “Backyard” meanwhile.
