Tems recently announced on social media that her Rwanda concert, which was set to take place in March 2025, has been cancelled due to the ongoing conflict in the East Congo region.

Award-winning singer and performer Tems has issued an apology on her social media to her fans, also announcing that her “Born in the Wild” concert, previously set to be held in Rwanda, has been cancelled. This decision is being made in the context of the ongoing conflict in Eastern Congo.

Today, Thursday, January 30, 2025, the singer issued a public apology to her fans via her social media account. At the time she initially announced her concert, she stated that she was uninformed about the conflict in eastern Congo and Rwanda’s involvement in it.

The Grammy award-winning singer stated that she never meant to be insensitive to the current global events and extended an apology if her concert announcement in Rwanda was perceived as such.

Her post on X stated,

“So I recently promoted my show in Rwanda without realising that there is ongoing conflict between Rwanda and Congo. I never ever intend to be insensitive to real-world issues, and I sincerely apologize if this came across that way. I simply had no idea this was going on. My heart goes out to those affected. Conflict is no joke and I truly hope and pray for peace in this time.”
