Steel Banglez – Times ft. Nas & Sid Sriram

Steel Banglez Times ft. Nas Sid Sriram

Steel Banglez’s success is founded on his ability to create atmospheric soundscapes and powerful, emotive beats. His latest EP is packed with them, but the standout track in the lineup is definitely “TIMES.” The producer collaborates with Nas and Sid Sriram on a track that reminisces about past experiences, both positive and negative. Nasir Jones brings his signature style to the table, delivering reflective bars, a talent he has showcased for over thirty years. Meanwhile, Sriram provides an emotionally authentic hook, making “TIMES” a standout collaboration for this trio.

Initial consideration should be given to Steel Banglez’s production. The melody is steady and familiar, with piano keys adding emphasis during the chorus. It’s an emotionally impactful song, specifically in its R&B ballad form. What balances the album out are the verses by Nas. The Queensbridge legend interrupts his flow on the song “TIMES” roughly halfway through, offering reflections on how his life has unfolded. His tone conveys a sense of surprise, but the weight of his voice dominates, and his presence is felt despite the song being relatively short. “TIMES” may not be a lengthy track, but it still delivers an emotional impact akin to a longer song. While the Steel Banglez EP is worth exploring, if you’re limited to just one track, “TIMES” is the standout choice.
