Spyro Seeks Answers Regarding the Abduction Of Teachers And Students In Oyo

Nigerian singer Spyro has once again addressed the issues impacting the country, expressing concern over what he perceives as a lack of urgency regarding the abduction of teachers and students in Oyo State.

In a pointed statement, the singer noted that despite the gravity of the situation, public focus seems to have shifted, as political activities and endorsements continue while the affected families remain in distress.

Spyro questioned why some politicians and celebrities are still actively engaging in campaigns and public demonstrations of political support when, in his view, there are urgent humanitarian issues that require more attention.

He specifically criticized celebrities who back President Bola Tinubu, arguing that compassion for citizens facing hardship and insecurity should take precedence over political affiliations or personal interests.

Additionally, he reminded public figures that wealth, fame, and influence are not permanent, emphasizing that life circumstances can change unexpectedly regardless of one’s status or success.

He stated, “It’s the first of June and there’s still no news about the teachers and children that were abducted, and it’s just business as usual in Nigeria, politicians are still campaigning and some people known as celebrities are still campaigning, some of them have children and I can’t seem to understand where their empathy lies, it’s about the money and their luxury cars! You’re a nobody, you’re dust, a sickness can come today and take away everything you think you have as a celebrity…”

His statements reflect a growing sentiment within the entertainment industry urging for more attention to security concerns and the well-being of citizens affected by violence and abductions throughout the country.
