The Maskandi community is in mourning following the death of Scebi “Inkos’yamagcokama” Dlamini, as Small kubheka releases “LALA KAHLE SCEBI (INKOS’YAMAGCOKAMA’S TRIBUTE)” featuring Lehlohonolo Lucky Madonsela. This record serves as a musical farewell to the late traditional music artist.

Released on August 14, 2026, “Lala Kahle Scebi” translates from isiZulu to “Rest Well, Scebi.” The song is released during an emotional time for his family, friends, fans, and the broader Maskandi community after his untimely passing.

Small kubheka and Lehlohonolo Lucky Madonsela incorporate traditional elements of Maskandi, using acoustic guitar melodies and solemn vocal performances to convey feelings of grief and remembrance. The lyrics reflect a sense of loss while providing comfort to those mourning.

Scebi, known as Inkos’yamagcokama, passed away alongside a member of his stage crew in a car accident on the John Ross Highway near Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. His death has resulted in numerous tributes from artists and supporters within the traditional music community.
