The Roots Picnic is set to make a return to Mann Center in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, this spring. Event organizers unveiled the highly anticipated performer lineup on Monday, February 17, revealing the acts that will be on stage from May 31 to June 1, which include D’Angelo, Lenny Kravitz, Meek Mill, GloRilla, Miguel, Tems, Latto, and KAYTRANADA.

The supporting acts lined up for the event comprise Kur, Elmiene, Lay Banks, Jermaine Dolly, Laila!, Funk Flex, and Peyton, as well as several other performers. Jeezy is also scheduled to mark 20 years of his album “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101”, and Black Thought, 2 Chainz, and Pusha T are set to collaborate with J.Period for the revival of his “Live Mixtape” series.

The pre-sale is set to occur on a Tuesday (February 18) at 10 p.m. ET, with tickets going on sale to the general public on a Friday (February 20) at the same time. Check out the complete lineup below, featuring some of the artists we’re most looking forward to performing live.

GloRilla

The Roots Picnic will occur just a few months following the conclusion of GloRilla’s “The Glorious Tour”, so she should still have some energy remaining. We’re particularly anticipating her performance of tracks like “TGIF,” “WHACHU KNOW ABOUT ME,” and it’s possible she may also feature Latto on “PROCEDURE.” There is no question she will put on a high-energy performance considering how regularly she has been attending the gym.

Latto

Sugar Honey Iced Tea solidified Latto’s position in the hip-hop genre, thanks to notable tracks such as “Brokey,” “Blick Sum,” and “There She Go” which were among the many impressive recordings. Last year’s performance at ONE MusicFest suggests that what she has in store for festivals in 2025 will be impressive, leaving fans eagerly anticipating her next show.

Meek Mill

It’s been a while since Meek Mill’s name was in the news primarily for his music, but rest assured, his most recent releases have been extremely impressive. He wrapped up 2024 with two extended plays, WHO DECIDES WAR and HEATHENISM, accompanied by a consistent release of singles while working as a newly independent artist. The Philly rapper’s hometown performance should be highly anticipated, given his impressive track record with songs such as “Dreams and Nightmares (Intro)” and “Amen”.

Tems

Tems remains on a high note following the release of her debut album, Born in the Wild, which, for the record, previewed a deluxe version. It’s impossible to predict the outcome, but one thing is certain: she has a talent for producing an impressive display. “Love Me JeJe” and “Burning” have been consistently played, though she may revert to her earlier hits such as “Higher” and “Damages.”

Laila!

Laila became an overnight sensation with “Not My Problem,” a song which reached new heights with its remix, featuring notable artists including Big Sean, Anycia, and Fabolous, and assisted by Cash Cobain. Luckily, the artist – who is also the daughter of the legendary Mos Def – has already demonstrated she is more than a one-hit wonder with her debut long-player, Gap Year. The 17-track project features “Want 2,” “Flyer Than U,” and “Coupé DeVille,” and it’s anticipated that she will perform all of these songs live.

Kur

Kur may not be a new face, but he has been consistently gaining momentum in Philadelphia over the years. His most recent endeavour, THURL, featured a solitary guest performance by Meek Mill on “Confidence Level,” in addition to notable tracks such as “123” and “Lil Bro.” Kur is certainly a worthwhile inclusion for those who appreciate street rap in the Roots Picnic’s roster.

Lay Bankz

Lay Bankz is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated selections from the prestigious 2024 XXL Freshman Class, a Philly artist who deserves significantly more recognition. She is largely famous for the TikTok hits “Tell Ur Girlfriend” and “Ick,” yet her debut album, After 7, showcases her full musical potential.
