Rod Wave is being sued over the abrupt cancellation of his “Last Lap Tour.” On September 30, Tuesday, Grizzly Touring took legal action against the rapper for allegedly breaching his contractual terms.

The touring company is reportedly seeking $27 million in legal filings, including compensation for unearned advances and extra damages resulting from lost profits. Rod Wave was initially contracted for 35 shows, with a total payout of $40,250,000, with half of the sum reportedly paid upfront to cover production costs and associated expenses.

According to Grizzly Touring, they provided him with $57 million, taking into account supplementary expenses. According to reports, the Nostalgia rapper performed at 26 locations and earned nearly $30 million. In addition, the company’s attorney, Pravin Patel, asserts that Rod Wave opted to expend portions of the advance on “private jets and lavish second residences.”

Rod Wave cancelled his “Last Lap Tour”.

Rod Wave has cancelled the remaining dates of his “Last Lap Tour” towards the end of January. The rapper claimed the tour had been hindered by production issues “from the start” that persisted into its second phase.

The situation was complicated by the fact that the artist behind “Heart On Ice” was also struggling with a foot injury at the time. “My foot and ankle injury have been killing me throughout the entire tour, but this is what I had to do in order to continue,” he wrote alongside a photo of several pills in a clear Ziploc bag. “I have been mentally frazzled out, so please excuse me.”

Rod Wave had previously vowed to fans that he’d make a comeback to the stage “bigger and better” a few months following the cancellation of the “Last Lap Tour.” To date, no new shows have been announced.

AllHipHop reported that Grizzly Touring is taking steps to avoid that situation. According to reports, the company has submitted a court order to prevent Rod Wave from undertaking any new tours without their participation, alleging a breach of the “exclusivity provision” in their agreement.

Following the initial success of his career, Rod Wave then established his own touring company.

Rod Wave recently announced the launch of his own Mainstay Touring company. “What ultimately drove me to want to take a more hands-on approach to touring was the fact that my last tour had to be cancelled due to routing issues,” he said to Billboard. Placing it in people’s hands and with promoters. My intention was to be more in control.
