Queen Latifah Asserts That Megan Thee Stallion Is Propelling Hip Hop Forward Into The Future

Similar to many people, Queen Latifah is appreciative of the contributions Megan Thee Stallion is making to the culture. On Tuesday’s (Oct. 28) airing of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” the Hip Hop pioneer and actress took a moment to give the Houston Hottie her rightful recognition.

“She’s incredibly cool, extremely fun, exceptionally talented and resilient in her position,” Latifah said to Hudson. “I’m a big fan of that vibe, taking Hip Hop forward, naturally.” The “Ladies First” rapper later recalled joining Megan on stage at Coachella – or “Megchella,” as fans called it – in April.

“She asked me to pop out at Coachella, and I was like, ‘What’s that all about?’ “Alright,” Latifah said. During Megan’s star-studded set, the two notably performed a mash-up of “Plan B” and “U.N.I.T.Y.” for the crowd. Latifah went on to say, “I had to bring it for her because I’m like, ‘This is Coachella, we have to take that thing down.'” They’re going to be ready. The people are gon’ be ready.”

I’d like to thank her once more for inviting me. The experience was extremely enjoyable. Her dancers, along with everybody else, worked extremely hard. She added that the atmosphere that night was simply positive. Megan was joined by Victoria Monét for a sultry performance of “Spin,” as well as Ciara for choreographed performances of “Roc Steady” and “Goodies.”

Latifah and Megan have not yet collaborated properly, but Latifah has informed Hudson that she has an abundance of unreleased material. There’s just too much music, and this time, and all those other things, but I’m going to make time because I want to share it. The station plays all sorts of music.

In contrast, Megan has recently released her second single of 2025, which is titled “LOVER GIRL” and was made available last Friday, October 24, following weeks of anticipation. The record reworked Total’s R&B classic “Kissin’ You.”
