Quavo Takeoff Dope Boy Phone

Quavo continues to uphold and honor TakeOff’s memory through music and his commitment to social causes.

He put out “Dope Boy Phone,” a track that was released after his death and includes his late nephew. The new single is released nearly two years following TakeOff’s passing and serves as a testament to Quavo’s dedication to preserving his friend’s legacy.

Kirsnick Khari Ball, known as TakeOff, was fatally shot on November 1, 2022, while attending a private function in downtown Houston. At the age of 28, he was. Confirmation of his death was provided by officials, who stated that the cause was a gunshot wound to the head and body.

At the heart of Quavo’s pursuits is the Rocket Foundation, a key initiative beyond his musical endeavors. A non-profit was set up in TakeOff’s memory and it revealed a new chapter on May 1, with Gregory Jackson Jr. appointed as its president.

Jackson, a former deputy director of the White House Office for the Prevention of Gun Violence, brings extensive national experience to this position. His previous role was dismantled during the Trump administration, yet his efforts to promote safer neighbourhoods have persisted.

Quavo commended Jackson’s appointment, describing him as a long-time collaborator in the foundation’s objectives. “He’s been backing Rocket since the beginning,” he said. “Take’s legacy is being well taken care of.”

The Rocket Foundation is persisting in its efforts to tackle gun violence by engaging in outreach programs and advocating for policy changes. The loss of his nephew made Quavo’s mission a pressing and deeply personal matter.

Quavo is also making a musical comeback while at the helm of the foundation. He is scheduled to release the singles “Legends” which will feature Lil Baby and “Trappa Rappa” in early 2025. Indications from both tracks point to him working towards a new solo album, as he incorporates TakeOff’s essence into his developing musical style.

Quavo uses advocacy and art to transform personal tragedy into a larger purpose. His most recent work demonstrates a mix of sorrow and personal development, leveraging his influence to bring about reform while honouring the individual he is mourning.
