Portable – Gbona

Portable, the leader of Zeh Nation, presents “Gbona,” a street-pop single produced by Shocker Beat that emphasizes the importance of self-reliance. The title, which translates to “hot” or “fire” in Yoruba, embodies the energetic vibe of the track. Known as Omolalomi, Portable infuses an Afro sound with a street-pop essence, while delivering a message about independence and emotional resilience, encouraging listeners to embrace solitude with confidence.

Shocker Beat, who also produced Portable’s recent single “Shenk Balance,” maintains a cohesive sound with an upbeat and lively rhythm that Portable navigates with his signature raw and animated delivery, which resonates with his audience.

In addition to the release, Portable initiated a challenge by sharing teasers during his travels, leading to the viral phrase “Omolalomi Gbona” on TikTok and Facebook. This sparked the #GbonaChallenge, prompting users to create their own dance videos, promoting the track through both social media engagement and streaming.

Throughout the year, Portable has been prolific, with tracks like “Labubu,” “Solomankinde,” and the “Elizabeth Joyce EP” keeping him prominent in the music scene. “Gbona” adds to this impressive lineup.

For those who enjoy vibrant and assertive Nigerian street-pop, this track is a fitting choice.
