Portable Expresses Disappointment After Losing To Carter Efe In Boxing Match

Street-pop artist Portable has contested his defeat to skit maker Carter Efe, claiming that the match was unfairly influenced against him.

This response came after their bout at Chaos in the Ring 4, where Carter Efe won by unanimous decision. All three judges recorded the scores as 27–30 in favor of the comedian, marking the end of Portable’s tenure as celebrity boxing champion.

Following the match, Portable expressed his frustrations on Instagram Live, alleging bias by the event organizers and requesting his earnings from the fight.

“I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. He was using his height and reach to his advantage. I landed many punches; why didn’t you count them? Every hit I made should count, regardless of where it connected. And to the organizers, I want my streaming money, which amounts to about N200 million. Just give me my money before I create a scene,”

he stated.

Portable voiced his displeasure towards both officials and fans, asserting that the match was set up disadvantageously for him.

“They cheated me. Carter Efe was holding my neck. I was landing punches too, but that’s not being acknowledged. They knew he had an advantage with his height and reach but still put him in a match against me.”

Despite his frustrations, Portable shifted his focus to a personal milestone, announcing the birth of his child.

“You can buy a championship belt, but a child cannot be bought. You all cheated. They can’t pay the sum of N23 billion. I expected to celebrate with my belt, but I ended up with my new baby.

“My wife just gave birth to a son. I value that more than a belt. You can acquire the belt, but not my child.”

Before the match, the singer had been optimistic about continuing his winning streak, having previously defeated Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.

“I will use you to earn my third belt,” he had confidently declared.

Carter Efe, in response, issued a warning: “One punch and you fall.”

In the ring, this prediction proved accurate. Utilizing his height and reach, Carter Efe maintained control throughout the three rounds, landing more effective punches and ultimately winning the match.

With this victory, the comedian has now become the new celebrity boxing champion, concluding a match that has generated ongoing discussion beyond the ring.
