Playboi Carti has finally released MUSIC, a project he has been hinting at for years. The project’s title is MUSIC, but the cover art displays “I AM MUSIC,” which results in conflicting branding. The question is essentially irrelevant. The album has been released and features 30 tracks along with approximately 76 minutes of music content to explore. It’s possible that Carti’s latest album is his strongest offering to date, but a definitive judgment is still pending.
Despite everything, fans are attempting to immerse themselves in all that this album has to offer. The anticipation was certainly high for a possible Kendrick Lamar collaboration. It appears Kendrick Lamar is featured on two separate tracks. The first option is “MOJO JOJO” and the second is “Good Credit.” In essence, “MOJO JOJO” is absolutely on fire, with Carti and Kendrick engaging in a back-and-forth exchange on Cardo production. The two artists have an unsettling quality, yet their collaboration is one of the most enjoyable of the year thus far.
