The rapper, who has spent several years being ridiculed online for his lack of new music, is finally releasing a large amount of music. “FOMDJ” is one of the tracks included in the project titled MUSIC – SORRY 4 DA WAIT. It could very well be the best option.
Playboi Carti continues to refine the warbly, unhinged rage rap sound that he pioneered in the late 2010s. “FOMDJ” is not an unoriginal rehash, though. The instrumental is one of the most catchy tracks on the album and Carti delivers a string of incoherent yet highly memorable lines. It’s challenging to decipher all the lyrics that the rapper recites on the initial listen. The overall atmosphere and intense, nighttime essence of “FOMDJ” can be sensed. Playboi Carti also released a music video for it, demonstrating his awareness of the song’s value. By the start of 2025, the rapper is already positioning himself as the MVP of the year. It’s early in 2025, but the rapper is already laying claim to be the MVP of the year.
