Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has finally broken his silence regarding his widely publicized disagreement with fellow rapper Blaqbonez, confirming that the rift extends far beyond music and has its origins in a deeply personal issue.

The singer of Declan Rice released a lengthy statement through X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, November 3, 2025, saying that his actions were driven by loyalty and protection rather than competition. The post, captioned “TO MY FAMILY, FRIENDS, FANS AND TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN – INDUSTRY MACHINE,” contained a detailed message outlining his perspective.

Odumodublvck stated that the feud started following a prolonged period of more than a year, during which someone close to him suffered targeted online harassment and personal assaults. He claimed that he had first attempted to settle the issue discreetly by making contact with a number of influential industry personalities, such as record label bosses and senior colleagues, but was met with no backing.

“When it was evident that no one would defend her, I felt compelled to intervene,” he wrote. “These actions were motivated by a desire for retribution, rather than ego or pride, stemming from prolonged exposure to injustice and a deep sense of responsibility towards someone I care about, who had been subjected to abuse for far too long without receiving adequate support.”

The rapper strongly denied that his ongoing feud with Blaqbonez is a “rap beef,” viewing this classification as a simplistic way to downplay a serious situation.

The issue has been distorted to resemble a rap rivalry, an attempt to advance someone’s career. I stated it twelve months ago, even when tensions were minimal, that this isn’t a rap rivalry. It’s a personal issue that’s been utilised for public influence. Reducing someone’s suffering to something amusing is not only insensitive but also extremely disrespectful.

Odumodublvck concluded his message by reaffirming his commitment to integrity and transparency and explicitly stating that he has no intention of revisiting the issue.

Honesty and accountability have been fundamental principles that I have upheld throughout my career. My current focus is on achieving peace, finding closure, and progressing onward.

Recent discussions about Nigerian hip-hop have been largely driven by the feud between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck, which has intensified through social media exchanges and diss tracks, such as Blaqbonez’s ACL, and has now taken a more personal turn with Odumodublvck’s latest statement, indicating that emotional loyalty may have been a more significant factor behind the controversy than artistic competition.
