Ne-Yo – Simple Things

Ne-Yo is recognized as a modern R&B artist with numerous hits, but he has also chosen to explore different genres. This is evident in his new country track, “Simple Things.” The song retains a hint of his earlier style primarily through the drum programming. However, the vocal melodies, guitar-driven instrumentation, and minimal percussion outside of the chorus indicate a shift towards a different sound than his usual work. The track offers an enjoyable listening experience, as the artist successfully balances genre fusion with his songwriting and production style. It remains to be seen if Ne-Yo will release more material in this vein in the future.
