Muni Long addressed allegations on social media regarding her disrespect towards Mariah Carey in two promotional skits for her project “Delulu.”

In one video posted on her social media, a Mariah Carey look-alike, referred to as Miss MC, offered to sing a song originally released in October for Muni. Muni responded, “Oh, please, it would be my pleasure.” After giving Muni unsolicited advice on her performance, Miss MC left, mentioning that she wasn’t “getting paid enough” to be there. Muni then remarked, “I just don’t like when other people sing my songs,” a comment that echoed Carey’s previous remarks about Muni performing “We Belong Together” at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. In a September interview with GQ, Carey expressed, “I’m very honored and flattered that she did it… but I just don’t like people doing my songs.”

In the second skit, Muni reacted to Miss MC attending her rehearsal, stating, “Man, can y’all believe MC came to my rehearsal today? ’Cause I’m that girl.” The lookalike responded, “I’m that girl, but we love everyone,” and playfully pushed Muni. Some fans interpreted this as a jab at Carey, but Muni quickly clarified on Instagram Stories, “Y’all don’t be delulu. I would never disrespect Queen Mariah!!!!!! Forever a Lamb.”

Muni and Carey previously worked together on the “Made For Me (Remix).” In her GQ interview, Carey mentioned her enthusiasm for their collaboration, recalling the moment she wrote her verse and how much she enjoyed it.

Additionally, Muni Long collaborated with LUDMILLA on “Tudo Igual” and Zara Larsson on “Midnight Sun” earlier this month.
