Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, known as Mr. P, recently reflected on his early football journey while inspiring his fans.

In a throwback video featuring Nigerian football legend John Obi Mikel, Mr. P encouraged his followers to persist in pursuing their dreams. He shared his experience of balancing his love for football with his emerging music career.

He noted that while in Jos, he was given an opportunity to join Plateau United FC from the Pepsi Academy, but his primary aspiration was to play professional football in Europe. However, circumstances led him to a successful career in music instead.

“NEVER GIVE UP! Yes, I used to play football and chase music at the same time… I was even offered the chance to play for Plateau United F.C from Pepsi Academy back then in Jos. But my dream was always to play in Europe. Somehow, destiny chose the mic instead. Today, I’m an established and successful artiste/musician. That’s nothing but grace. #OGforever,” he stated.

Mr. P’s reflections illustrate the unexpected pathways life can take, emphasizing that dedication and resilience in various interests can ultimately lead to success, even if the outcome differs from initial expectations.
