May D gained popularity in the early 2010s, known for several hit songs that were widely played in clubs and on the radio. His breakout single in 2013, “Soundtrack,” became a favorite among listeners, followed by other successful tracks like “Ile Ijo” and “So Many Tinz.”

He also received significant recognition for his feature on “Chop My Money,” a hit by P-Square that included American artist Akon, which gained extensive airplay across Africa and beyond.

Before starting his solo career, May D was signed to Square Records, a now-defunct label owned by twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square, along with their older brother, Jude Okoye.

At that time, the label was considered one of the most significant in the Nigerian music scene, benefiting from P-Square’s success while promoting emerging artists.

Fortunately, May D’s update indicates that he is unharmed, with no major injuries reported.
