Mavo Issues Apology For Resurfaced Social Media Posts

Nigerian singer Mavo has responded to criticism regarding some of his previous social media posts by apologizing for comments made about other entertainers in his early career.

The issue came to light again as many of the singer’s past tweets circulated, highlighting his former views on figures in the Nigerian music industry, including Davido and Ayra Starr.

In light of the renewed discussion, Mavo reflected on his earlier mindset, acknowledging that he was overly critical of other entertainers during his university years.

“I was a bad entertainment critic when I started uni until I realized superstars don’t really care about Twitter,”

he stated.

Mavo indicated that his outlook shifted when he stopped focusing on other artists and began investing his energy into his own career, which has led to a greater sense of peace.

“I stopped criticizing and focused solely on my music and since then it’s been bliss,”

he remarked.

He recognized that some of his past remarks may have impacted individuals, despite not intending to cause harm. He subsequently apologized to those affected by his comments.

“My criticism sadly, unfortunately & unintentionally hurt quite a number of people & I’m honestly sorry,”

Mavo expressed.

Furthermore, he mentioned that encountering some of the individuals he previously criticized altered his perception of them, acknowledging that his earlier judgments did not align with his later experiences.

“I have met most of these people and they actually turn out to be amazing people. I’m sorry for my misjudgment. Let love lead,” he added.

Mavo’s apology arises as discussions regarding his old posts continue to circulate on social media, drawing renewed attention to his earlier opinions.
