Ludwig Goransson & Don Toliver – Flames of Fortune

Film soundtracks often receive less recognition than they deserve when discussing a movie’s excellence. These elements are vital in establishing the tone and fostering a connection with the moviegoer, drawing them into the story and its setting. A seasoned composer and producer who is knowledgeable about that is Ludwig Goransson.

His fingerprints are probably all over many of your favorite films and television programs, particularly over the course of the past 10 years. A Swedish native has composed soundtracks for Creed (one and two), a number of seasons of The Mandalorian, the film Oppenheimer, Tenet, and both Black Panther movies.

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan are well-known for their involvement in the latter projects, including Creed. Jordan has headed up those projects. It is evident that they hold Goransson’s work in high regard. It’s hardly surprising that they took him on for Sinners.

This high-profile thriller/action/drama film has received a lot of hype and has thus far met those expectations. Currently, Sinners has a high rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, with both professional critics and casual film enthusiasts sharing positive opinions. During the 1930s in the Southern United States, blues, folk, and country music were the dominant genres.

Goransson does an excellent job in paying homage to the sonic elements and musical instruments of that era. One of the standout tracks featured on the soundtrack is “Flames of Fortune” by Don Toliver. A Southern trap artist who also tries his hand at country and folk genres. That option is not feasible.
