Lil Durk Is No Longer In Solitary Confinement After Five Months

Lil Durk is currently in prison but has reportedly been released from solitary confinement after spending five months in that status.

According to a report from XXL Magazine on January 15, the rapper, known for the song “All My Life,” has returned to the general population at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center. Since August 2025, he had been in a special housing unit. Durk was initially arrested in October 2024 on murder-for-hire charges in Broward County, Florida, after allegedly booking multiple flights out of the country prior to his arrest.

Durk, along with five associates from his Only The Family label, faces charges that include conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and committing murder-for-hire related to the 2022 murder of Lul Pab, the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, in Los Angeles. Prosecutors contend that this murder was in retaliation for the 2020 death of King Von and that Durk ordered it.

He was placed in solitary confinement after being reportedly found with an Apple Watch, which allowed him to communicate with individuals outside the prison, a violation of prison regulations.

The trial for the Grammy Award-winning artist is now scheduled to commence in May, following a request from other defendants and prosecutors to delay the trial due to its complexity, which the judge approved.

A filing noted, “The case is so unusual and so complex, due to the nature of the prosecution and the number of defendants, that it is unreasonable to expect preparation for pre-trial proceedings or for the trial itself within the time limits established by the Speedy Trial Act.”

Durk has made several attempts to secure bail, including a request for a $4.5 million bond, but all of these requests have been denied.
