Larry June, 2 Chainz & The Alchemist – Munyon Canyon

Larry June 2 Chainz The Alchemist Munyon Canyon

When Larry June, 2 Chainz, and The Alchemist announced their collaboration on a joint album, some individuals expressed uncertainty. Their doubts primarily revolved around how 2 Chainz, also known as Tity Boi, would adapt to Uncle Al’s signature boom-bap style. However, a closer examination of their respective talents reveals that their collaboration is more logical than it may initially appear. The California producer has consistently demonstrated an ability to craft relaxed soundscapes, while 2 Chainz is known for his laid-back vocal delivery and rap technique. The combination of these two elements sets the stage for an intriguing musical endeavor.

Upon the release of “Bad Choices,” the lead single from this 11-track album, it became evident that listeners were in for an opulent and occasionally humorous auditory experience. This is meant in the most positive sense, as Larry June, 2 Chainz, and The Alchemist manage to maintain a sense of familiarity for their audience without veering into monotony. In our view, there is a need for more collaborations between Al and the Atlanta artist, as we believe 2 Chainz delivers some of the most impressive rap performances. One of his standout verses can be found on the opening track, “Munyon Canyon,” where his flow aligns seamlessly with one of the smoothest beats of the year. As suggested by the cover of Life Is Beautiful, this song embodies pure tranquility and will leave listeners feeling uplifted.
