Lagos Prepared: DJ Black Coffee Announces Significant 2026 Concert

Grammy-winning South African DJ and producer Black Coffee is scheduled to perform in Lagos on April 5, 2026, representing a significant development for the city’s electronic music culture.

The event, organized by MEntertainment and DAPO, aims to highlight Lagos as more than just the global center of Afrobeats and to showcase its increasing prominence in house and electronic music.

Black Coffee, whose real name is Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, has gained international recognition as a leading figure in Afro house. The DJ from Durban has performed at some of the world’s most renowned venues, establishing a strong presence on the global stage.

A notable event occurred in March 2025, when M:E Entertainment hosted the “Rampa Lagos” show featuring German DJ Rampa. The event included performances by Afrobeats artists Burna Boy and Olamide, showcasing the growing integration of electronic music and mainstream African sounds.

Organizers anticipate that the upcoming Black Coffee performance will further solidify Lagos’s reputation as a key location for house music in Africa, complementing its significant influence in Afrobeats.
