Afrobeats artist Asake has shared his views on wealth, discussing the significance of money in his life and lifestyle.

In a recent interview with filmmaker and podcaster Korty EO, the award-winning singer spoke openly about his affinity for luxury items, including expensive cars and jewelry, and how achieving financial success has impacted his life.

Asake expressed that his appreciation for money extends beyond material possessions, emphasizing the freedom it provides.

“I love the freedom money gives me. It doesn’t solve all my problems, but it solves 80% of my problems,”

he stated in Yoruba.

Known as “Mr. Money,” the singer mentioned that he owns five cars in Lagos, even though he has spent much of the past year outside Nigeria.

During the conversation, Asake reflected on his early days, connecting his rise to his time at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he studied dramatic arts and gained recognition as a campus star while pursuing his music career.

The interview also included his mother, who provided insights into his upbringing. She shared that she initially intended for him to study in the United Kingdom, but Asake chose to remain in Nigeria to attend OAU. Her decision to support him was influenced by a family friend and actor, Muyideen Oladapo, who was studying at the university at that time and offered to guide him.
