Kid Cudi has officially added “painter” to his diverse portfolio. The Cleveland musician and actor recently announced an exhibition of his artwork in France.

When he paints, he goes by Scotty Ramon, derived from his birth name, Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi. The exhibition, titled “Echoes of the Past,” will take place from January 31 to March 1 at Ruttkowski;68 in Paris.

The gallery’s announcement reveals that Ramon aspired to be a cartoonist as a child. He began exploring his skills in visual arts again just over a year ago, creating his first painting. At 41, he balanced this new endeavor with the production of his album, Free, released in August. In May 2025, following the announcement of his book, “Cudi: The Memoir,” he mentioned that the cover art was one of his paintings. He also indicated a temporary pause on creating new music around the same time.

Cudi’s fans can look forward to a score he composed for the exhibition, which will be played in the gallery. The new music is characterized as “atmospheric and electric” with “propulsive synths.”

The exhibition will showcase 10 of his original pieces. Some of the acrylic on canvas paintings feature a character named “Max,” described as an alter ego. Themes of introspection, mental health, and resilience, prevalent in his music, also appear in his artwork.

The opening reception for “Echoes of the Past” is scheduled for January 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
