Timothée Chalamet is a die-hard fan of Kendrick Lamar. Less than 24 hours before the Compton rapper performs at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, he shared the second and final part of his ride-along with The King star, who surprisingly knew quite a few of his deep cuts.

A black-and-white video was uploaded on Saturday, February 8, via pgLang’s YouTube channel, which initially featured the pair rapping to “The Heart Pt. 2,” a highly popular song from Overly Dedicated, released in 2010. Lamar stated that it was one of his favourites, prompting Chalamet to reply, “‘Pt.” “It’s like competing at the Olympics, you know?”

The French-American actor pointed out, “Especially that last verse, you were coughing, bro.” You were finding it increasingly difficult to breathe. Lamar beamed with a smug smile and replied, “I was leaving.”

As Lamar wandered around the city, he inquired of Chalamet whether he had ever found a part of himself in the characters he had portrayed. Following a brief pause, the 29-year-old then referenced Paul Atreides from the 2021 film Dune, stating, “That character, as a young man shouldering too much, stepping into the limelight, was a situation mirroring my own life at that point.”

They next discussed a Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, at which point Chalamet wondered if Lamar could envision himself being depicted in a movie. “I’m not thinking about any documentaries or anything else.” The father of two stated that he was leaving. I still have ideas I want to implement. To be honest, I’m completely smitten with the present. To be real, man, I’m infatuated with the now.”

Furthermore, he elaborated, “I envision the current state of affairs, and I see the objectives that I pursued and achieved, and I feel motivated to lead a life filled with inspiration and appreciation.”

Super Bowl LIX will take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles set to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET. Typically lasting around three hours, football games will likely conclude by 8 p.m, allowing fans to expect Lamar to take the stage by that time. The “squabble up” rapper has confirmed he will be bringing out SZA, who has announced that she will also release new music that evening.
