Kehlani Performs “Folded” On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” As Part Of Her “Nini’s Fluff & Fold” Segment

Kehlani’s “Folded” will continue to receive accolades, and from appearances, the record’s success will be long-lasting. The singer performed their Song of the Year contender on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on November 3, Monday night.

Kehlani appeared on stage with a live band, accompanied by washing machines and laundry baskets, a tribute to the “Nini’s Fluff & Fold” scene from the song’s original music video. The fictional dry cleaners’ theme has been consistently carried throughout their free laundry service initiative in August and even on the cover art of last month’s Folded Homage Pack.

Singing after being introduced by Jimmy Kimmel, Kehlani expressed, “It’s absurd that I’ve been behaving as if I don’t require you badly / As all that occupies my thoughts is us since I last saw you,” I know I didn’t have to walk away; all I had to do was ask for space. Billboard announced on Monday, November 3, that Kehlani’s song “Folded” reached the Top 10 on the Hot 100 chart. The track jumped up seven places to the number one position. Following a significant surge in popularity after the release of the Folded Homage Pack, which included artists such as Brandy, Toni Braxton and Tank, among others.

Good fortune number seven. Kehlani expressed gratitude, stating “Gratitude is endless,” in a post on Instagram. Rap-Up previously reported that the song gained 13 million streams and a further 3,000 in pure sales, propelling it into the Top 10.

The artist explained to their daughter, Adeya Nomi Parrish Young-White, that they thought it was a really cool way to return to music after not releasing music for a while. I was fairly certain about it. I thought it was a good tune.

Kehlani will release their second single of the year, “Out The Window,” on Friday, November 7. The track’s minimalist artwork was designed by Markus Klinko, referred to as their “one and only” choice for the task.
